A Project Manager
will be assigned by the Project Director to be responsible
for a particular project. He will work closely with the client's
Project manager and the Project Architect, constantly oversees,
coordinates and manages all aspects of the project. A specially
designed Project Quality Plan and Inspection and Test Plan
will be applied in conjunction with all the clients' inputs
as well as all the specifications within the contract.
In order to ensure that work progress is under proper control
and materials delivered to site in time with the specified
quality, Polywin ensure each and all our teams namely: - the
design teams, material purchasing teams, fabrication teams,
and installation teams, project management & site supervision
teams all continuously practice the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle.
|
 |
The design team in accordance
with the specification requirements and the Project Architect's
comments will hold regular design meetings and draw up design
briefs. Preliminary design, if required will provide the main
contractor anchor bolt positions so that concrete can be laid
with Precast Anchors / Halfen Channels. Then elevations and
preliminary architectural designs will have to be reviewed,
structural calculations have to be commutated taking into
consideration the wind pressure reference to the building's
height, temperature, dead loads, wind loads, safety factors
etc. to ensure that the final product is structurally safe,
weather proof, practical and presentable in outlook. |
|
Prior to material submission,
our Purchasers and Quantity Surveyor will re-check the Bills
of Quantity, General Specification & Particular Specifications,
Master Programme, regarding quality and quantity delivery
dates, as well as the relevant certificates or test reports.
All material samples if in order will be submitted to the
project architect and the main contractor respectively for
approval and custody. The purchasing team, after confirmation
of material selection, will contact the supplier to confirm
quantity, pricing, delivery schedule and finally sign the
purchase agreement to avoid price fluctuation. Arrangement
will then be made for the purchased items to be sent to our
factory for fabrication or building site for installation
according to the programme of works. |
 |
After approval of aluminium sections
by the architect, die drawings will be prepared and sent to
the extrusion factory. The latter will check and comment for
finalization. After the aluminium sections are extruded, our
purchase staff will examine the quality and compatibility
of the sections, before confirming quantity for each manufacturing
schedule. All extruded sections are well protected and will
be checked for defects, before accepted by the fabrication
department for further cutting and assembling. Finished products
will be protected by PVC tapes, wooden shields, and cardboards
before they are transported to sites. |
 |
Whenever there is material delivered
to site, whether they are window frames, claddings, glass
panels, anchor bolts, sealants and so on, inspections will
be carried out immediately and documented to make sure all
the prepared materials to be installed by our installation
teams are defect free. |
 |
During the course of works our
site supervisor will ensure all our workers to observe all
safety regulations and measures. Polywin is extremely stringent
on safety issues, our internal checks and rules and regulations
have been in place for many years and Polywin has a very good
safety record. |
 |
The Site supervision team will
check the site condition, to see whether the site preparation
is in line with the Main Contractor's drawings particularly
in respect of setting out reference lines, structural openings
and anchor bolt precasting. This is a step to ensure the installation
works are carried out as planned. As a preventative measure,
inspections are carried out and documented regularly by our
well-experienced site supervisors in various stages of installation.
If any potential defects are found, corrective actions will
be taken immediately. |
 |
After all the field tests for the
project have been completed, reports and certificates are
in place. The site supervisor will proactively inspect all
our works once more, ensuring all remedial works are done
before handing over to the owner. |
